Rotary District 7950 Water Resource Activities are directed by the Pure Water Initiative Committee (see Committee site), a dedicated group of Rotarians who desire to provide Clean Water and provide hygene and sanitation training to people that do not have access to clean water now. This includes providing education in the  use of the facilities that provide this Clean Water.

Since Rotary year 2002 the Pure Water Initiative Committee (see History site) has dispensed over $100,000.00 for water projects to sites in Honduras, Cambodia, India, Peru and Haiti. Using the Rotary Foundation Matching Grant Programs has increased the "bang for the buck" by adding 50% or $0.50 for every $1.00 designated to an approve project.

  • Over 4300 hundred families have received slow flow bio-sand filters in Honduras to date.
  • Two small, 4WD pickups were provided to better facilitate the delivery of these filters.
  • Money for two very important pieces water testing equipment, for the water testing laboratory, was provided to the Cambodian effort, currently managed by the District's Middletown Rotary Club.
  • Money has been provided to a Rotary District in India for a village level water filter project.  See pictures.
  • Money has been combined with Rotary Foundation money to install 500 filters in the outskirts of Lima, Peru.
