The winter is behind us, and a good winter it was for our District. Our NEPETS was a wonderful success and our new Presidents Elect are ready to take the reins in July. Our next big events are the District Assembly and the Multi-District Conference described below. Please register for both ASAP. As you can see in the following announcements, it's a busy spring in our District...all signs of a vibrant D7950.
 
Don’t forget to register for the District Assembly to be held on April 14th at Whites of Westport 7:30am – 12:30pm for Presidents, Presidents Elect, Treasurers, Secretaries, Membership & Foundation Chairs and all Rotarians. This is an important meeting for all leadership. Don’t miss out on hearing Keynote Speaker, Nabil Oudeh, President and Founder of the Center for Conflict Resolution International Ltd (CCR International). Multi District Conference, Rotary Rocks Plymouth, May 18-20, Hotel 1620, Plymouth. If you haven’t seen the Part III promotional video, go to Rotary7950.com. It’s guaranteed to make you smile. While there preview the Program Schedule which includes 11 breakout sessions. Then register early here by April 1 to ensure a room at the hotel. A la carte options are also available. 
 
If you would like to display your projects or fundraisers at the Rotary Rock Plymouth Conference, the deadline to register for a House of Friendship table is April 3. Registration form.
 
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Environmental Sustainability: Please take time to read the April issue of your Rotarian magazine - it is devoted to Environmental Sustainability. Have you met President Riseley’s challenge to have every club plant one tree for every Rotarian? Has your club implemented any of the easy suggestions listed on rotary7950.com? Is your club planning an environmental sustainability project before the end of the Rotary year? Has your club planted or are they planning to plant at least one tree during this Rotary year? President Ian is expecting a report from D7950, however, I have no way of knowing what is being done in the District. The Rotary Club of Brockton is celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year.
The World Premiere of the concert work ‘Brockton’, commissioned for this occasion, will be performed by the award-winning Brockton High School Advanced Concert Band at the Brockton High School Nelson Auditorium, April 4, 2018, 7:00 PM. Providence Rotary Club at Work: View Providence projects, like this distribution of donated winter clothing at city recreation centers, in their updated photo album on www.rotary7950.com. Send us pictures of your projects and we will create a photo album for your club – let everyone know about the great projects you are doing.
 
 
 
Women in Rotary: Did you know this year marks 30 Years of Women in Rotary? We are planning to commemorate this event at the Multi-District Conference, in Plymouth on May 17-20. If you haven’t already done so, please send AG Lori DiPersio , lori@wrcnbc.or, the name of the first woman to join your Rotary Club. Include the date/year she joined, a head shot, position(s) she held in your club, and her current status. Thank you. 
 
REMINDERS
Club Awards: During my visits this year, I recognize that, although all clubs are different, they are all special in their own way. Honor and recognize your membership by applying for some of the many awards available. Deadline for applications to DGE Bill Tennant, billtdg2018@gmail.com is April 15th. Awards certificates will be presented at the Multi-District Conference on Saturday.
 
Grants for your Club: The last webinar that qualifies your club to apply for a 2018-2019 District Grant will be held on Thursday, April 12, from 6-8pm. Click here for detailed instructions on how to join. Just a  reminder to always mute your phone if you are not the presenter during a webinar.
 
Do you have a conflict so you can’t attend the March 31st session of the Rotary Leadership Institute in Lincoln RI? You still have a chance to register for the last session of the Rotary year at Four Points Sheraton in Wakefield, MA on April 28th. Register at www.RLINEA.org
 
The 25th anniversary of International Night will be held on Monday, April 23rd at White's of Westport.  We will look back and honor the kids who spent time abroad absorbing a new culture, learning a new language, and growing up as well as those who came to live in our district for a year.
