Members of the East Greenwich Rotary Club, the Interact Club they host at Rocky Hill Country Day School and the Rotaract Club at the New England Institute of Technology weren’t put off by stormy weather as they manned the distribution phase of their annual citrus drive. The club raises more than $4,000 with the sale of grapefruit, oranges, pears, apples and preserves to support its charitable efforts.
The pickup was held at the Paul Arpin Van Lines warehouse in West Warwick where the shipment of fruit was delivered from Florida. Club president Ron Winde said Paul Arpin has been a wonderful partner in providing the space and enabling the distribution. (Warwick Beacon photos)
YOUTHFUL POWER: Members of the Rocky Hill School Interact Club carried boxes of citrus to the cars of those making pickups. People stayed in their cars, not that they were anxious to step out into the wind and rain.
