Clubs all over the district celebrated Polio Plus Day, on October 24th!
Barnstable Sunrise donated their happy bucks for two meetings to Polio.
Club President Sara Brodzinski painted her pinky nail purple and donated $1 to Polio for each of her friends she convinced to do the same. She also put a video on the Barnstable Sunrise Rotary page challenging others to paint their pinky. Whenever someone asked her about her purple nail, she told them about Polio. Four of her coworkers painted their pinkies, and gave her a combined total of $19 to contribute to Polio eradication efforts, without even being asked! She also learned that one of her coworkers' relatives had Polio.
“Silly and simple,” she said, “but a great way to start a conversation and raise awareness!”
