Rotary Club of Scituate members, President Lucille Sorrentino and member Jean DiGiacomandrea distributed face masks as part of Rotary Internationals Million Mask Challenge. At each location we were met with smiles and gratitude.
Sue Lovering, Scituate Meals on Wheels (MoW) site director and Joan Powers, Scituate Rotary member and long time MoW volunteer, educated us on the program. It was clear both are passionate about their work.
On to Scituate Fire Department First Parish Road station where Captain Mark Donovan and Firefighter Mike Cohen showed us around and talked all about the station and the importance of the various masks they wear.
Next stop Public Safety Building where Lt Bortolotto chatted with us about his position with department working with the public teaching fire safety. Masks were left for Scituate Police also.
Last stop Scituate Housing Authority were Maggie Carr explained how she would distributing the masks to all the residents of the 3 senior housing complexes. More masks will be delivered to others in the next week.
