Peace and Conflict Resolution
- Open World Program - Rotary Club of Scituate RI (Contact: Bill Vangel PDG)
A multi club project in which clubs host representatives from Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Molsloria and other countries for 1 week. Under this library of congress program visitors meet with local institutions relavent to the theme of the visits. Hosting clubs get reimbursed for their hosting expenses from the US Government.
- Forum For Cities in Transition From Conflict (FCT Project) - Rotary Club of Scituate, MA (Contact Dietrich Bilger PDG http://citiesintransition.net)
The project focuses on "coaching cities" whom overcame dividing issues and working with "divided cities" to help them overcome their dividing issues. FCT cities meet at annual conferences (Belfast this year). Each conference agrees to specific outcomes which the cities undertake by addressing them with other FCT cities. Rotary clubs in these cities add value as they work with city fathers to achieve their goals.
