🔥 Amp Up Your Rotary Club's Facebook Game! 🔥

10 Hot Tips to Attract & Keep Awesome Members

This is for club’s currently using FB and understand the basics. Remember that your club's Facebook page isn't just a notice board – it's your dynamic window to the world! Also the Social Media for the club is everyone’s responsibility! Everyone can find a way to support it!

Now Let’s Level Up Your Page!
  1. Fresh Banners, Fresh Vibes! 🎨 Switch up your cover photo monthly or seasonally! Show off diverse members in action, supporting a local team, or rocking themed outfits (think Halloween fun or Red Sox pride!). It screams, "We're active, we're fun, and we update our page!"

  2. Roll Out the Welcome Mat (Digitally!) 👋 When a new member joins, CELEBRATE them! Share the link to their press release (if online) or create a vibrant graphic with their photo and a warm welcome. Make it clear: joining your club is big news!

  3. "Check-In" & Tag Like a Pro! 📍 Encourage members to "check in" at meetings and tag fellow Rotarians! Add comments like, "Just heard an inspiring speaker, @[Speaker'sName]! Feeling motivated to..." (Pro-Tip: Make sure your club is listed as a 'business/organization' with your meeting location for this to work!)

  4. "Why I Rotary" Member Spotlight! 💖 Once a month, feature a member (with a great photo!) sharing why they joined Rotary and, more importantly, why they stay. Diverse voices make a huge impact!

  5. Be the Humanitarian Heroes You Are! 🌍 Show, don't just tell! Highlight one powerful example of how your club lives out Rotary's humanitarian mission, always with a compelling photo. Let your actions speak volumes!

  6. Share the Story, Feel the Impact! 📖 Dig into those personal memories! Ask members for stories about an impactful project or a special connection they've made. For extra digital oomph, publish these as a blog post on your club website and then share the link to Facebook. Unique content = more eyes on your website too!

  7. #ThrowbackThursday: Honor Our History! 📸 Dust off those old photos! Use #TBT to share a vintage club pic and give a shout-out to members (past and present!) for their dedicated service.

  8. Tease & Intrigue! 🤔 Spark curiosity! Post a "teaser" like, "Want to know why our club was just recognized for...?" or a mysterious photo from an event with a caption like, "Come to a meeting to discover how this project transformed a whole community!"

  9. Caption Contest Fun! 💬 Post a quirky photo from a recent event or project and invite your audience to suggest captions. It's a super easy way to boost engagement and get people interacting with your page!

  10. Repeat commentators or people who like your content that are not Rotarians ✨ Extend a warm, open invitation to visit your club – no strings attached! Include a friendly club member's name and contact info for RSVPs. Make sure that person is ready to welcome them personally at an event or meeting! Plus be sure the whole club is ready to engage a new person.

  11. Buddy Up! Collaboration is key! Every club is doing the same thing you are, so connect with each other: via email, on the phone or in person. Have conversations about things you can share online, as well as tips for posting and plans for content.

Bonus Tips for Facebook Fame!
  • Tag, You're It! The more relevant people and pages you tag (sponsors, partners, other members, speakers), the wider your reach!

  • Everywhere You Go! Is your Rotary Facebook page link on your club stationery, business cards, and email signatures? Make it easy for people to find you!

  • Shout-Out to Sponsors! Publicly thank event sponsors on your page – they'll love the recognition and likely start following you!

  • Live Stream Your Page! Some website platforms let you embed your Facebook feed directly onto your homepage, keeping your website fresh!

  • Master Your Insights! Facebook's "Insights" tool is your best friend. Use it to see when your audience is most active and schedule your posts for maximum impact!
